Knysna Oyster Festival & Backpackers Festival
The band, the campervan, and all our toys & instruments are back safely in the Helderberg!
It was a VERY cold, wet and muddy 10days.
Not only was the weather pretty limiting....there was a nasty bug going around Knysna, and the whole band got it, (except superhuman drummer Nick Frost)
There were 3 days where moral was going down, and our food kept coming up! Not very glam at all!
On the upside, we had some warm and intimate gigs, met some fruity and interesting peeps along the way....went on some wild & crazy forest adventures and 'blair-witch-project-like' roadtrip adventures, almost always ending in one of us getting slightly injured..... somehow......
(Heather got dragged through a tree-like bush in pitch darkness in the forest, Kirsten ran into a wire fence..... Nick Kuiper sleepwalked a little too far from the backpackers. . . . Nick Frost almost got eaten by a pack of dogs....thankfully, not all on the same night...)
We were very stoked to hook up with The Vontaines on the last night of the Oyster Festival. As they are close friends of ours from home, it was awesum to spend our last night of our tour gigging with them! That night we shared the stage with The Vontaines, Foto na Dans, and Prime Circle.
We made a last stop at Starling Village Backpackers to say goodbye after the Oyster Festival gig and headed home to recover.
